Let’s Get to Know Each Other.
WE’LL GO FIRST.
Meet Katharine F. Bedsole, MS, CCC-SLP
Flower Pie owner Katharine F. Bedsole, M.S. CCC-SLP has been working in the field of Speech-Language Pathology for 22+ years. She has worked in multiple settings–schools, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, hospitals, even educational organizations–but her primary interest has always been working with children. Katharine enjoys working with children to use their own strengths to overcome their communication challenges.
She holds a B.S. from Auburn University, and a M.S. from University of South Alabama, both in Communication Science Disorders. Additionally, she has research experience, and incorporates research into her evidence-based practice. When she is not helping children reach their potential, she is a wife to David, and a mom to her preteen daughter and her awesome “bonus kid.”
How We Help Your Child
Your child is special to you, and special to us. We provide treatment of speech and language disorders. In the process, we build your child up by talking as much about what they can do while addressing their areas of need. We use evidence-based practice, which means that we rely on current research and best practices to inform treatment. Katharine's experience working in early childhood settings also drives her emphasis on play as a mode of learning (playful learning). In other words, children learn best in natural settings, at their own pace, addressing real communication situations.
